IOGKF-USA 2011 BLACK BELT GASSHUKU

October 28th through 30th 2011
Clearwater Beach, Florida
Welcome IOGKF-USA instructors and black belts! This years Instructors Gasshuku will be held in Clearwater Beach, Florida at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort Hotel on the sugar-sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. This annual event is a time for all of us to train hard, improve our skills, and take all of this back to our dojos. It is also a time to get to know your peers and meet new and existing students, all unified in the desire to train and learn the teachings of the founder of Goju Ryu karate, Chojun Miyagi.
The event is being hosted by Sensei Bob Bolton with Tampa Family Martial Arts, and along with his volunteers has promised this to be one of the most memorable Gasshukus ever! The three days of training will focus on details of the kata and bunkai, with an emphasis on bunkai. Sensei Gene Villa wants all of us to be on the same page on bunkai so he and the regional instructors will be doing focus groups throughout the event. The training schedule is intense, but in the end, everyone in attendance will have a weekend of learning, camaraderie, and fun!
There are pages with bios of the instructors, the schedule of events, venue information including transportation information, contact information, and Gasshuku Registration and Black Belt Grading forms.
On behalf of the IOGKF-USA and Tampa Family Martial Arts, we look forward to seeing you all here!
